The Zoning Board of Appeals is the body which considers and decides on requests for variances, when an application has been found inconsistent with the Zoning Law (originally adopted in 1971). Most applications for development go first to the Planning and Zoning Department and the Planning Board, which is responsible for deciding if an application conforms to the Zoning Law.

The Zoning Law, Zoning map and Subdivision of Land and Design and Construction Standards can be purchased at the Town Clerk's Office.
The Zoning Board Appeals consists of five member board which considers and decides on requests for variances, when an application has been found inconsistent with the Zoning Laws.
The Zoning Board of Appeals holds meeting the 2nd Monday of the month as needed (except holidays).
