Transfer Station Schedule

Open to Residents
Tuesday: 7 am - 5 pm
Wed-Fri: 7 am - 2 pm
Saturday: 7 am - 3 pm
Closed: Sundays, Mondays and Holidays, as posted

Bruce Goodall supervises operations of the Transfer/Recycling Station.

Please be considerate of our neighbors and cover any open loads when traveling to and from the Transfer Station.

Many recyclables are accepted without charge 2008 Rules.
Disposal costs necessitate a small fee for non-recyclables and some bulky or difficult recyclables.

Because of a ruling by the State Comptroller, the transfer station cannot accept cash payments. We will accept a check made out to the Town of Schodack, for the exact amount.

transfer station SUMMARY OF GUIDELINES AND RECYCLING RULES

Facility is for waste from residents' homes only.   No commercial or industrial materials allowed.
Only small quantities (five 30 gal. containers per day @ $8. each) of residential construction debris are accepted from residents.
Recycling is MANDATORY and recyclables, separated as listed below, are accepted without charge:

  • Newspapers
  • Tin cans
  • Glass bottles/jars - color separated
  • Plastic bottles
  • Used motor oil & filters
  • Batteries - car and household
  • Anti-Freeze
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Clothes - Salvation Army container
  • Magazines
  • Brush and logs less than six (6) inches in diameter

Some additional household materials (appliances, couches, TVs, etc.) are accepted for an additional charge.

Prohibited materials:

  • Industrial waste
  • Infectious waste
  • Sludge
  • Hazardous waste
  • Commercial construction and demolition debris and household in excess of that noted above in 6(d)
  • Trees and tree stumps
  • Gasoline or heating oils
