Services

The Town Clerk's Office performs many other duties for the town departments, (i.e. - orders general office supplies, submits press releases for the Youth and Recreation department, issues applications for registrants of the Youth and Recreation Summer Program, etc.).

Payments

Payments may be made in the form of Cash, Check (made payable to: Schodack Town Clerk), or Credit Card for any fee* or services obtained at the Town Clerk's Office. Please note that a fee of $1.75 or 2.45%, whichever is greater, is charged for any MasterCard, Visa, or Discover Card (American Express is not accepted) used as payment.

*Water and Sewer payments collected by  the Town Clerk's Office are not eligible to be made by Credit Card.

Notary Publics: Notaries are available during regular business hours; call for shut-in service. A picture ID is required when requesting this service (i.e. - Driver's License, passport, military ID, etc.) There is no charge for this service. 

Voter Registration/Elections: Under the federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA), the county governments oversee all election responsibilities. In Rensselaer County, the clerks of local governments assist the Board of Elections with various aspects of the process, such as working with the election inspectors (election inspector training), calling in results, and registration of voters. Voter Registration Forms may be downloaded in English or en Espanol.

Pistol Permits: Notary Services and Passport Photos (at a charge of $9.00 for 2 photos) are available for completing County Pistol Permit Applications. For more information on obtaining a Pistol Permit please visit the Rensselaer County Clerk's Page.

Hunting/Fishing License Sales: Conservation licenses are available at this location.  For residency requirements and hunting regulations, please visit the NYS DEC Website.
