River Day Activities
Two days of Food, Exhibits, Vendors and Music for all to enjoy
12 June 09 (Friday )
- June 12th - River Day Arrives
- Food, Exhibits and Music for all to enjoy
- Schodack Island State Park, Free entry at 4pm til 10:30 pm
* Note Boat ramp will be closed 7:30pm -10:30pm
- (Off-site link to the Daily Gazette) The Onrust, a replica of Dutch ships of 400 years ago, will be at the Castleton Boat Club.
- Heritage Vessels arriving at Castleton Boat Club at 4pm, Ship tours starting after arrival. Cannon welcome at docking time
- Schodack Landing Fire Dept. serving Hotdogs and Hamburg's, ice cream
- Castleton Fire Dept. serving fried dough and FF
- Brookview Station Winery / Goold Orchards
- All Fired up BBQ with pulled pork, ribs
- Capital Sawmill / custom sawing
- Local authors book sale and signings
- UNCAGED
- RCEMC
- Schodack-Castleton Community Partnership
- The Brownbagger
- Adirondack Kettle Corn/Fresh lemon water, snow cones

* Boaters trailer parking for this event in the park will be in the back lot. Follow signs

Castleton - Schodack Community Day
Enjoy day long Celebration with Food, Exhibits and Music
- Schodack Island Park open 9am to 6pm (No entry fee)
* Note Boat Ramp Closed 9:30am -12:30pm
- Heritage Vessels depart Castleton Boat Club at 9:30am; Stand on the shores of the State Park or Boat Club or Rt. 9J in the Village as the flagships parade north, line up starts at 10am in front of the State Park.

- Kiwanis Serving Hamburgers and Hotdogs

- 2:00 what do you need to hike successfully- introduction to type of equipment used.
- 3:00 true experiences of hiking/backpacking- some stories that have been told.
- 4:00 what dose AMC has to offer the hiker/backpacker?
- Castleton Library Presents / Chris Fowler 7th grade Story Telling at noon
- Lots of games
- Tri-County Banjo Band 12:30am -2pm
- The Nelson Rivers Band from 2pm-6pm in the pavilion
* Boaters trailer parking for this event in the park will be in the back lot - Follow signs
Events being added daily please come enjoy a day on the River at the State Park.

SCHEDULE OF PROGRAMS FOR 2009
- June 7, 2009, Sunday, 2 PM Stuart Lehman, Education Coordinator, NYS Capitol, will present "'Light on. the Past', The Great Hudson-Fulton Celebration of 1909 and its Legacy." East Greenbush Community Library
- September 20, Sunday, 2 PM: Shirley Dunn, noted author and historian, will present "River Indians: Mohicans Making History." East Greenbush
Community Library. (Exhibits provided by Fort Crailo and the Greenbush Historical Society will be at the library during the month of September.)
- October 18, Sunday, 2 PM Kathy Sheehan, Rensselaer County Historian, will explore the history of the towns and cities that border the Hudson. River from Schodack to Schaghticoke using historic maps, photographs, letters etc. from the Rensselaer County Historical. Society archives. Rensselaer City Hall, 62 Washington Street.
- November 8, Sunday, 2 PM Captain Chip Reynolds, Director of the New Netherland Museum and Captain of the Replica Ship Half Moon will be guest speaker. Maple Hill High School, Schodack.
