Town Justice Bruce Wagner administered the oath of office on January 1, 2008, to re-elected Schodack Town Supervisor Beth Secor at the new Schodack Town Hall on Schuurman Road. Town Board members Ken Stinner and Frank Curtis, Town Clerk Donna Conlin, Receiver of Taxes Kathy Lubbers and Town Justice Paul W. Peter, who all won re-election, were also sworn-in.

Rensselaer County Executive Kathy Jimino, County Legislators Martin Reid, Alex Shannon, Schodack town residents, friends and family were all on hand to celebrate the second swearing-in ceremony to be held at Schodack's new town hall.

"There are so many great things happening in Schodack, especially in terms of projects that will help expand the tax base. We are looking forward to continuing the progress in 2008," said Secor.

In 2007, the Tractor Supply Co. opened in the Schodack Plaza and has proven to be a popular addition to the community. Secor said she also plans on continuing efforts to attract a supermarket to the town center, an effort that has drawn considerable support from town residents. Secor said she also plans to expand efforts to inform residents of town issues and events via the town website, www.schodack.org and via the local media.
