Land Use is regulated in Schodack according to the Zoning Law which was originally enacted June 1971. Zoning and subdivisions are administered by the Director of Planning & Zoning. Copies of the Zoning Law, Zoning map and Subdivision of Land and Design and Construction Standards can be purchased at the Town Clerk's Office. Tax Maps for the Town of Schodack are available on-line. Take note that these .pdf files are very large. The Planning Board acts within the limits of the Zoning Law, determining whether an application (for development, auxiliary building, commercial conversion or any other proposal) conforms to the Zoning Law. The Planning Board consists of seven members and holds regular meetings on the first and third Mondays of most months at 7 p.m. (except holidays). Details of Schodack's laws can be found at E-Code.
