SCHODACK TOWN CLERK ANNNOUNCES ENHANCED SERVICES AS PASSPORT ACCEPTANCE OFFICE

SCHODACK, NEW YORK - Donna L. Conlin, Schodack Town Clerk, is happy to announce that for the convenience of residents, her office will now be taking Passport photos.

Ms. Conlin became an official Passport Acceptance Facility in 1998 and has accepted thousands of passports since that time. Looking for ways to enhance services to residents, she researched the parameters of taking passport photos and made the decision to offer this new service.

This exciting news will allow people to get their picture taken at the same time they are submitting their applications. Ms. Conlin said, "People have asked us to do this for years. Now they can have one-stop shopping."

As the camera and printer is portable, Ms. Conlin said she and her staff, Karen Vecchione and Lois Ciccolella, are willing to offer full, off-site services to local schools and travel clubs planning trips outside of the United States.

The Town Clerk's office is located at 265 Schuurman Rd., across the street from the new Rite-Aid. Although the Town Clerk's Office is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., passport applications and pictures will be taken throughout the week between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. only. The cost of photos is $9.00. No appointment is necessary for either service.

As a reminder, it is still taking approximately 12 weeks or more to get a passport so please PLAN AHEAD! For more information about this or other services, please call the Town Clerk's Office at 477-7590.
