Schodack is located (detailed town map) in the southwestern corner of Rensselaer County, New York. It's part of New York's Capital Region, about 15 miles by Interstate from downtown Albany.

PLEASE NOTE: White paper and white cardboard are now treated as a single class by our recycler; similarly, brown paper (including paper grocery bags, brown and grey cardboard and corrugated cardboad should be separated and deposited in the cardboard dumpster.
Please note: brush and logs accepted ONLY until 30 minutes before closing times.
We can no longer accept REAR PROJECTION TELEVISIONS free of charge because of a change by eWaste: The fee to dispose of Rear Projection Televisions is $ 24.00/12 punches. We still provide FREE collection of all New York State Covered Electronics EXCEPT Rear Projection Televisions and we hope that in the future NYS DEC and manufacturers of the covered electronic equipment will come together to work more closely with recyclers and other stakeholders to develop a more sustainable recycling system.

Schodack has a population of some 12,500. At 63 square miles, it is the largest municipality in the county and is bounded on the north by the towns of East Greenbush and Sand Lake, on the west by the Hudson River, on the east by the Town of Nassau and on the south by Columbia County.
