Friends of the Castleton Public Library is an organization whose members focus on the library, its needs and those of the community it serves. We support our library by volunteering, fundraising, purchasing books and media, as well as financially supporting some of the programming.

The Center helps our students find or improve their employment and successfully support their families. Free computer training for women at Workforce Development Institute, Albany and Troy.

CCMS/Anchor is a joint ministry of Schodack churches committed to addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the community. Hours: Mon 5:00 - 8:00pm, Tues & Thurs 9:00am - 3:00pm, and the 1st and 3rd Sat each month 10:00am - 2:00pm. Cub Scout Pack 253

Pack 253, "Fun with a purpose" for boys entering grades 1-5 has been growing young men since 1945. We are sponsored by Castleton Kiwanis, as is Troop 53, a member of the Boy Scouts of America since 1924.

SCCP is a community partnership working together to build a safe, respectful and substance free environment that utilizes local resources to encourage tolerance and healthy character. The Coalition meets the second Monday of every month (except July), from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, in the Maple Hill High School library. All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend.

(Fees may apply) We provide homebuyer education, first time homebuyer grants, group workshops, rehab grants (when funded) and foreclosure prevention counseling to all of Rensselaer County.
