Section: 219-27. Fences and Walls.
A. Fences and walls shall not exceed eight (8) feet in height when erected in side or rear yards nor three (3) feet in height when erected within twenty-five (25) feet of the front lot line or highway right-of-way, except agriculture fencing which may be five (5) feet.
B. All such fences and walls shall conform to the requirements of Section 219-19 as pertains to corner lots.
C. All such fences and walls shall be measured from the ground level at the base of fence or wall, except that if such is a retaining wall, the height shall be measured from the average of the ground levels at each end of said retaining wall.

Swimming Pools
Fees for swimming pool permits: In Ground: $50.00; Above Ground: $25.00
You must submit a plot plan of the property showing the location of the house, any out-buildings, the septic system and well.
The pool must be a minimum of (5) feet from any side or rear property line, is not permitted in the front yard and is recommended to be (10) feet from the principal structure.
All electrical work must be inspected by an Electrical Underwriter.
Once excavation begins, for in-ground pools, the entire area must be enclosed by a security fence.
Swimming pools may be located in the side yard, however not closer to the fronting street than the line of the house.
Please call the Schodack Building Department once the job is totally completed, so we may schedule a final inspection Pool should not be used until all work is completed and a final inspection has been done.
All in-ground pools must have a 4 foot high fence with a self-closing/self locking gate.
Decks on above-ground pools require hand rails & self closing/self latching gates.
