Peter (right), after the March 11, 2004 adoption of a Town Board Resolution marking Dikant's achievements as Town of Schodack Justice Court Officer. 2004-137) RECOGNITION OF ACHIEVEMENT FROM THE TOWN OF SCHODACK WHEREAS, William Dikant was appointed to serve as Schodack Justice Court Officer on March 1, 1974, and on March 3, 2004, celebrated his 30th anniversary as Court Officer, WHEREAS, in his position as Court Officer to the Schodack Justice Court, William Dikant has served with the trust and confidence of the Justices of the Town of Schodack over the past 30 years, including the following magistrates: Judge Reeves, Judge Snow, Judge Smith, Judge Scheidel, Judge Albert Peter, Judge Bult, Judge Shannon, Judge Paul Peter and Judge Wagner WHEREAS, the Court is the busiest in Rensselaer County and runs very efficiently and without turmoil as a result William Dikant's calm demeanor and unfaltering concern for those who seek justice from the court, and WHEREAS, our Court Officer has often received the praise of attorneys and defendants alike for his fairness and consideration to all involved in the judicial process, and WHEREAS, William Dikant has additionally served Schodack as a lifetime member of the Castleton Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc., and has worked tirelessly to provide emergency medical care to those in need, and WHEREAS, William Dikant, through his association with Remove Intoxicated Drivers (RID), often shares his insight into how drinking and driving can tragically impact a family in order to better prepare students and their families to make the best choices for life, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Town Board wishes to pause in its deliberations to thank William Dikant for a "job well done" and to wish him much health and happiness in his future pursuits - both on behalf of the Town of Schodack and personally.
