Frequently asked questions:
How do I contact the Schodack Police Department?
In an emergency, call 911 from any land-line phone in town and you'll reach the Rensselaer County emergency communications center (911 calls from cell phones may be directed to State Police). You may also call our local emergency number, 477-7611.
For NON-emergency police assistance and for routine or administrative matters, please call the Department's Front Desk, 477-7973.
Where is the Police Department?
Police Headquarters is on Columbia Turnpike, between the intersection of Routes 9 & 20 and State Route 150 (a link to maps is in the sidebar at left). See our headquarters.
How can I get a copy of a report?
If you need a copy of a motor vehicle accident report, you may come to the front desk of the police department (directions above) to request one. We recommend that you wait at least 48 hours after the accident since the report must be submitted and reviewed before it can be released. You can check whether it's available by calling the front desk at 477-7973.
Town Clerk: 477-7590
Trnsfr Stn: 477-8491
Reports on other incidents can be obtained by filing a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request through the Town Clerk's Office at the Town Hall.
