Permitted Water Sales
Rules and Regulations

  1. Water shall only be dispensed for resale purposes permitted by these rules and regulations, from the hydrant located at 3776 US Rt. 20, Town of Schodack Highway Garage. An assembly attached to the hydrant will be equipped with a hydrant lock, meter, back flow preventer and ball valve. Water Department Operators will monitor the hydrant fittings and readings on a regular basis.
     
  2. Only those customers maintaining valid annual permits issued by the Town of Schodack Building Department may obtain Town water from the above said hydrant. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to provide the hydrant wrench and hoses.
     
  3. All vehicles drawing water must maintain a valid permit within said vehicle and available for inspection by authorities.
     
  4. The Building Department will supply permit holders, at the time of application/or upon request, with a 2-part "Commercial Water Dispensing Ticket" to be completed on a daily basis by the driver recording each fill including the holder's permit number, permit issuance date, fill date, meter readings prior to and upon completion of the fill and the total gallons drawn. The completed original should be left in the locked drop box at the hydrant site and the copy maintained for the permit holder's records.
     
  5. The applicant shall pay, upon issuance of the permit, a $50.00 annual permit fee, payable by check only, to the Town of Schodack to be accepted by the building department for deposit into the Enterprise Town Wide Water Supply Fund.
     
  6. The Town will charge $.01 per gallon for water dispensed, to be invoiced monthly, to each permit holder by the Town based upon the "Commercial Water Dispensing Ticket"(s) left in the drop box at the hydrant site. Invoices are to be paid in full within 30 days of the date of the invoice. If unpaid within prescribed due date, the permit holder will also be responsible for an additional 10% penalty on any unpaid amounts.
     
  7. The Town reserves the right to, at its discretion, decline to issue or to suspend any issued permit should it realize the occurrence of any of, but not limited to, the following circumstances; the quality or quantity of the supply of water to consumers may be interrupted or impaired, theft of water, excessive water usage as determined by a Water Department Operator, disregard for the above provisions, and/or delinquent invoices due from permit holders.
     
  8. The Town is hereby authorized to collect on any unpaid water invoices by taking the necessary legal action.
     
  9. No permit shall be required for water withdrawn for fire-fighting purposes.
     
  10. This rules and regulations shall take effect immediately and shall supersede Resolution No. 159 of 1991.
