The Board

Schodack's charter provides for a Town Board of five members, elected at large. Its presiding officer is the Supervisor, who also directs operations of the Police, Highway, Building and Tax departments. The Board's responsibilities include the budget and the general welfare of the town. It appoints members of the Planning and Zoning Boards and the Industrial Development Agency. Generally, the Town Board meets monthly at the Town Hall (see top of this page for the next meeting or see Calendar page).

Frank CurtisFrank Curtis won election in November 2005. The Board had appointed Mr. Curtis in January 2005 to fill a term vacated by resignation. He was appointed Deputy Supervisor in 2010.
Mr. Curtis has held senior managerial positions in Town and County government for many years. He is a past Chief and currently active member of the East Schodack Fire Department.

The project took several years and Mike helped coordinate the fundraising, planning and construction of the sprawling play area at the school. Mike views his work as a councilman as an extension of his service to Schodack.
Mike is a graduate of Columbia High School. He and his wife Tracey are the parents of two daughters, and the family is active in local school and community organizations. Mike is employed by Walter S. Pratt & Sons in Rensselaer, a family-owned business that provides equipment for various construction projects.
